About Sports

I began running in the summer of 2019. My 1 km time was 3:50, then it improved to 3:27 by the fall of 2019. I was still not the fastest one in class in 1000, though. In the spring came Covid, and I continued running. But there wasn't any more running classes in school. In the summer I ran 3-5 km everyday. Then in the fall of 2020 my 1 km time was 3:18, and I was the fastest in high school class (which was very bad in sports) and around 5th in the grade. I thought I wasn't very genetically gifted in short and middle distances. I improved my 5 km time to 21 minutes in 2022. I didn't run a lot in the spring of 2021, but I contined running in 2022 and first half of 2023. Strangely Covid didn't break my running habit, but I defeated myself later.

Then in 2023.9 I grew disillusioned and things didn't work out for me. Then I stopped runnning. I kind of decided back then it's not "aesthetic" and make you look very old. By the way, I was never a fan of any sprinting anyway. I only prefer watching aesthetic sports such as figure skating or other winter olympics sports now now. My fitness decreased so much in this 1.5 years. Arguably my running times should be faster or at least stay the same from 18 to 20. Previously I could run 5 km below 22 minutes, 3 km below 12 minutes, 12 km in below 1 hour, and 1 km around 3:10 time. Now my 1 km time is 4:30. I went from 70 kg to 86 kg. Previously I could do around 12 pull-ups and my hand was full of calluses, and now I can only do 3 or 4.

Then in 2024.11 I started weight loss. I ate one meal a day for around half a year from 1125 to end of June. My weight quickly dropped to 77 kg after 2 months, but then it stopped decreasing, and only dropped 1 kg in 5 months. I thought the reason was because I was still eating lots of yogurt and sweet drinks, when I felt really hungry. I didn't know that sweet drinks or yogurt can make my body hold on to fat, and I guess I lost a lot of muscles. My weight finally decreased from 86 kg to 73.5 kg, but I was utterly burnt out with the diet. Then it went up again to 80 kg. I thought about what other sports I can do. I watched Winter Olympics and they looked so cool. There isn't any winter sport facilities around, and they seem too expensive and inaccessible. So I guess running is the only sport I am stuck with.
